THE Double Glazed Venetian blind unit by Crown Doors International has the venetians completely sealed within two layers of toughened safety glass.
The venetians do not require any cleaning or maintenance as no dust, dirt or contaminates can get into the sealed units. The control for tilting, raising and lowering the venetians is via a strong magnet which is situated on the outside of the glass.
By sliding the magnet up and down in the fixed guide, it will open and close or raise and lower the venetians. The magnetic controls can be supplied loose, whereby a nurse, a school teacher or a person of authority can have total control in the operation of the blinds.
The Double Glaze Venetians have been tested by the Optometry and Vision Science at the University of New South Wales. The test results have shown a maximum solar heat gain coefficient of 0.16.
The blinds are suitable for hospitals, nurseries, food preparation areas, office partition walls and schools.
A system has also been developed which will increase the savings on existing buildings by adapting the Double Glaze Venetian unit into the back section of the existing glaze panel, therefore converting a single glaze panel to triple glaze with two air-gaps and venetian blinds.
