THE $8 million Wangaratta Performing Arts Centre has created a new architectural icon for north-east Victoria with its monumental design and striking use of Stramit® Premium Products.
The guiding philosophy of Harmer Architects was to specify construction materials that were buildable, long-lasting, economical, hard-wearing, easy to maintain, suited the acoustic demands and expressed the function of the new building.
Stramit® profiled cladding in COLORBOND® Metallic finish and plain stainless steel were used to create steel ‘planks’ that form a unique architectural statement.
Steel cladding was also featured in the foyer, while perforated Stramit Longspan® cladding with insulation blanket provided an economical acoustic solution in the theatre auditorium and function room.
