Carterwilliamson was presented with a common challenge with this Rozelle (NSW) renovation — create a fabulous, open plan, light, modern space at the rear of an existing home — within a limited budget.
Shadowclad® plywood cladding by Carter Holt Harvey Woodproducts became part of the solution and in turn, a favoured material for future projects. Architect Shaun Carter was looking for an inexpensive but attractive cladding material without compromising on durability and longevity. After some investigation, he found Shadowclad ticked all the boxes.
Lightweight Shadowclad is available in sheets 1200 mm wide and lengths of 2440 or 2745 mm with a shiplap weathergroove joint. The sheets have a rough band sawn surface and in this project, the vertical grooved texture was selected. Shadowclad is also available with a pre-primed powder coated finish.
Shadowclad is manufactured from sustainably managed plantation timber and is available with FSC Chain of Custody certification for Green Star credit points.
