In houses, windows and doors are considered the most susceptible area to bushfire damage. Most houses destroyed in bushfires initially survive the passing of the fire-front, only to burn down hours later from wind-borne embers and debris. Damage to glazing or window systems allows for embers and debris to enter the building and cause ignition.
Xtreme® has been tested by CSIRO to BAL-40 and BAL-FZ, which is fully compliant to AS1530.8.1 and AS1530.8.2 within AS3959-2009. This standard applies to products that can meet the absolute highest bushfire conditions, such as direct exposure to flames, heat flux and ember attack.
