From the architect:

The Harbourside Deco apartment, built in 1918, required a complete kitchen renovation to align with bespoke and desired aesthetic.

She approached us with a clear vision, encouraging bold use of colour, pattern and texture, to create a uniquely personalised enclave. Embracing this exciting direction, we embarked on transforming the space.

We began by demolishing the internal dividing wall between the kitchen and pantry to create an open-plan layout.

The original archway leading to the formal dining room was widened and heightened, enhancing the sense of space and adding grandeur.

The pantry was integrated into custom-designed Art Deco-inspired joinery, featuring soft curves that harmonise with the apartment's existing archways.

A striking black and white geometric floor tile was installed throughout the kitchen and informal dining area.

All new joinery and appliances were seamlessly incorporated into the design, with large appliances concealed within the custom cabinetry to maintain a clean, minimalistic look, allowing the vibrant colours and patterns of the space to take centre stage.

We also added a kitchen bench seat upholstered in a Christian Lacroix print, complemented by an eclectic mix of printed cushions.

Positioned strategically in front of the window to maximise natural light, this area offers a cosy, informal dining experience and has fast become a favourite spot in the apartment.
