With construction underway, we thought it’s worth taking a look at East Melbourne’s latest luxe multi-res development, 370 Albert Street in East Melbourne, designed by Jolson with interiors handled by Tamsin Johnson.
Comprising thirteen residences across eight levels, Jolson’s design seeks to integrate the development into the existing fabric of East Melbourne, as opposed to breaking the mould. The curvaceous form of the building is defined by a receding podium, consisting of strong, natural materials, achieving congruence with the nearby Fitzroy Gardens.
The development is crowned by a penthouse, which spans the entirety of the top floor. Developer Orchard Piper confirmed the property sold for a cool $16 million at the turn of the year.
Tamsin Johnson says she collaborated alongside Orchard Piper and Jolson to craft modern, elegant and practical interiors that hold a sense of grandeur and timelessness.
"The interior has been intelligently considered to complement the building's strong architectural features and outstanding city views. Focusing on a level of sophistication and comfort that balances with the sought-after location and lifestyle on offer, inspired by New York and a touch of Milan," she says.
"To complement the surroundings and nearby gardens, the colour scheme is relatively muted and restful with elegant use of onyx, metal, travertine, leather, alabaster and Venetian glass lighting.”
370 Albert Street is expected to be completed in the second half of 2024. For more info, click here.
