The highest event space in the Southern Hemisphere has received an Allen Jack + Cottier (AJ+C) makeover, and has now reopened its doors to Sydney Tower visitors.
The brief from the Sky Venue’s operator, Trippas White Group, was to redesign the 340sqm circular room for contemporary use, providing maximum flexibility for everything from small weddings to breakfast briefings, conferences to sit down dinners, and cocktail and dance parties to product launches.
AJ+C thus combined an open planned seating arrangement with contemporary materials, furniture, fixtures and fittings to create a more residential than corporate ambience.
The restaurant is now called STUDIO and the re-vamped space can accommodates all styles of events for up to 200 people.
“Our client wanted the new space to read like a New York loft or high end apartment, rather than a typical ‘event’ centre,” says Kerry Fyfe from Allen Jack+Cottier.
“Guests should feel like they are in someone’s luxe private home, albeit one in an unusually spectacular location.”
“This is ultimately a commercial venue, so flexibility and functionality around the clock are the keys.” She added.
“Everything had to be high quality, very flexible, with the best and most durable fabrics, furniture and fittings.”
