Melbourne’s residents are seeing another addition to Melbourne’s unique Skyline with the new Rectangular Stadium taking shape. The Melbourne Rectangular Stadium will have a capacity of 30,000 and will be home to the Melbourne Victory Soccer Team and the Melbourne Storm Rugby League Team.
It could be assumed that the colour of the structure is a simple white, yet this is not the case. More than 9 samples were required to achieve the precise powder coating shade that the architect (Cox Architects, for the client MPV) required. The colour shade was named in honour of the project and is called Interpon D2015 Stadium White and is available from Australian Aluminium Finishing .
The stadium is currently under construction by Grocon on Edwin Flack Field in the Olympic Park Precinct. AAF is powdercoating the support shell aluminium extrusions surrounding the composite panels. The extrusions are supplied by Capral Aluminium for the fabricator Minesco Industries.
