ADM Instrument Engineering introduces a new range of power supplies from
Mean Well designed for harsh environments.
Mean Well’s HLG series power supplies have the ability to withstand
Australia’s harsh environmental conditions. An important part of the power
supply’s harsh environment design is its sealed aluminium housing featuring an
IP rating of up to IP67 for use in applications where moisture and dust can be
a problem.
The air cooled design of the HLG series ensures fanless operation, which
eliminates the need for any moving parts, and delivers the assurance of excellent
long-term reliability and an ambient operating temperature range of -40°C ~ +70°C,
subject to derating. The HLG series can resist vibration up to 5G, making it
ideal for use in mining and minerals processing applications.
Key features of the HLG series harsh environment power supplies include
Mean Well’s built-in active PFC; efficiency rating of up to 95%; anti-surge
capability of 4kV; and 5-year warranty.
The HLG is well suited to LED lighting applications. Mean Well has even
developed a specific version that can be dimmed with a resistance 1-10v or PWM
signal input.
Classified as prescribed electrical equipment in Australia, the HLG
series is supplied by ADM complete with Australian Safety Certifications as
well as C-Tick. These safety approvals may not be available in power supplies
imported by non-authorised distributors.
All HLG series power supplies from ADM are factory fitted with an
Australian approved 1.8m cable and 3 pin GPO plug. ADM is the exclusive Mean
Well distributor in Australia.
