Aglo Systems contributed to the upgrade of the Monash Aquatic and Recreation Centre in Glen Waverley, VIC by supplying their premium 500W Palida LED floodlights. Featuring an array of indoor and outdoor pools, the venue was previously using 1000W metal halide lights for illumination. Between dimming lights and non-operational fittings, the recreation centre’s atmosphere was dark and unappealing.
The upgrade to the 4000-square-metre premier Melbourne sporting venue not only demanded high quality area lighting to complement the innovative architectural building design but also to deliver greater energy efficiencies.
Aglo’s 500W Palida LED floodlights helped create a warm and inviting ambience for the impressive complex. The low maintenance LED lighting fixtures also reduced energy consumption by 54.55% and provided a bright 270 lux level, exceeding the 200 lux global aquatic standard.
The new LED floodlights not only assure long-term colour consistency and brightness but also help the Monash Aquatic Centre save almost 104,000 kWh annually, amounting to about $20,000 a year. Additionally, the 50,000-hour operational lifetime of the fittings is a distinct advantage with the centre operating up to 12 hours each day throughout the week.
