Aglo Systems created bespoke light fittings for the food court at the Galleria Shopping Plaza in Melbourne CBD.
Located on Bourke Street, the Galleria Shopping Plaza incorporated a food court, which featured a rope themed interior. Working in conjunction with Electrolight and Michelle Taylor Retail Design Concepts, Aglo Systems’ Custom Design department developed and manufactured two variations of luminaries for the food court.
The first was a 3.4m tall floorstanding lamp with a 2m black steel tripod base and a rope clad, 1.4m high frustoconical decorative shade sitting on top. The second luminaire was a 65cm high pendant featuring a compressed version of the same shade.
The rope theme that flowed through the interior design of the food court was integrated into the luminaire design concept. The shade was created using 10mm nylon rope in cyan and white colouring tightly wrapped around the powder-coated frame. The luminaires used an LED light source within a 300mm acrylic diffuser.
Aglo Systems manufactured three floorstanding light fittings and six pendants in all, with the luminaires adding an eye-catching touch to the setting.
