Leading security products and solutions provider Allegion announces that their readers and credentials, previously available under the aptiQ and XceedID brand names, have been moved to their Schlage portfolio. Customers can expect the same great products, part numbers, compatibility and customer service under the Schlage brand, giving them a single, unified source for access control solutions.
Jon Mooney, Allegion’s business leader for readers, credentials and biometrics, explains that Schlage will henceforth meet all access control needs from mechanical locks and keys to electronic locks, readers and credentials.
While the aptiQ and XceedID brand names have been discontinued, existing installations will not be affected with the newly branded Schlage products working with aptiQ and XceedID products. Compatibility and support will continue as usual; however, customers should expect to see future products, training materials and other resources with the Schlage logo.
Following the latest move, the existing Schlage range of mechanical and electronic locking solutions will be further enhanced with the addition of readers and credentials, completing the brand’s access control portfolio.
According to Mooney, a key objective of the rebranding was to help customers deliver the most secure, convenient and efficient solution with the simplicity of using a single brand instead of three, and helping make their solutions easier to understand, sell and service for their channels.
