Allplastics Engineering recently supplied clear Abrasion Resistant (AR2) grade polycarbonate sheets for the balustrades at the Allianz Stadium in Sydney.
The clear mar resistant polycarbonate was specified for its strength – Allplastics’ AR2 Makrolon Grade polycarbonate has 250 times the strength of glass; a special coating on both sides of the sheet protects it from incidental scratching during cleaning. This polycarbonate sheet is UV stabilised, offers excellent weatherability and is virtually unbreakable.
In addition to balustrading, polycarbonate is the ideal material for anti-vandal glazing, security screens in hospitals and police stations, mass transport vehicles and earthmoving machinery view panels among several other applications.
Allplastics’ polycarbonate sheets measure 2440 x 1220mm and 2440 x 1830mm, and are available in thicknesses of 3mm, 4.5mm, 6mm, 9.5mm and 12mm.
