User segments such as picture framers, exhibition designers, retailers, glaziers and many others are always looking for acrylic sheets with an abrasion resistant surface. While acrylic has a wonderful range of applications and advantages, it can be susceptible to scratching in heavy traffic situations or due to constant cleaning.
Allplastics Engineering is stocking 3mm and 4.5mm thick DONCHAMP SurfaceGuard S1 (hard coated) sheets.
DONCHAMP SurfaceGuard (cast acrylic panel) is a specially developed acrylic grade sheet, which is highly abrasion/mar resistant (pencil hardness 6H), and also offers exceptional chemical resistance, excellent clarity and optical properties, and outstanding mechanical properties and rigidity. The material is also simple to fabricate, while addressing the challenges of public glazing applications.
These acrylic panels are coated on one side only to allow screen or digital printing on the other side as well as for gluing in fabricated display applications.

These panels are versatile in application thanks to the transparency, coupled with high surface hardness, increased chemical resistance and reduced paint adhesion.
DONCHAMP SurfaceGuard can also be easily transported, with about 11 times the break resistance of glass and a considerably lower weight. The acrylic panels can be easily cleaned, with a much higher resistance to commercial cleaning solutions.
Applications
DONCHAMP SurfaceGuard abrasion resistant acrylic panels are recommended for picture framing, electronic components (displays), poker machine/ gaming displays, furniture industry – back painted/ protection layer enabling gloss appearance, refrigeration parts and other white goods applications, signage including wayfinding interior signage/ directory displays, map protection, ATM surrounds, machine guards, double glazing, permanent sneeze screens/ anti-jump counter screens, balustrades, and museums and galleries.
