Angle-Shoe Pivots are being used for a variety of purposes in the new apartment building on the former Regent Theatre site in Sydney’s CBD. They are being used as concealed pivot hinges to the many solid core panelling system doors to the service cupboards in the elegant apartment lobby corridors.
Angle-Shoe pivots are also being used within the apartments for coat and linen closets and to the double doors concealing laundry facilities. Some 1500 Angle-Shoe Pivots have now been installed in the Norman Foster designed Lumiere Apartment project at Town Hall Sydney.
At the request of the Construction Manager standard Angle-Shoe AS35 pivots were tested to 300,000 cycles on a solid core door of 50 Kg. This swings open a whole new market opportunity for these pivots. At the recent DesignBuild exhibition in Sydney the Angle-Shoe pivot stand had the first prototype for bedroom and other internal doors without traditional door jambs and mitred architrave trim to the door opening.
Previously these pivots were directed at the wardrobe and closet markets. There was a lot of interest shown by overseas visitors, particularly from South East Asia.
