A Big Data specialist, a 7 Star equivalent ducted gas heater and an office refurbishment project were some of the winners of the ARBS Industry Awards for 2016, announced recently in Melbourne. ARBS is Australia’s only international air conditioning, refrigeration and building services trade exhibition.
Nominations to the ARBS Industry Awards 2016 were evaluated by a panel of industry experts on various criteria such as leadership, sustainability, performance and innovation.
Leon Wurfel of BUENO who is making strides in Big Data won the ARBS Young Achiever Award 2016, with the three finalists, Ahmad Amiri of High Technology Control and Vladimir Poposki of Belco Electrical along with Leon agreeing that collaboration was the future of the industry.
Seeley International’s Braemar 7 Star equivalent ducted gas heater won the Product/Service Excellence Award 2016 while the ARBS Project Excellence Award 2016 was presented to Westpac St. George HQ Refurbishment designed by Norman Disney Young for Westpac Corporation.
Irfan Hai accepted the Outstanding Industry Education/Training Award 2016 won by TAFE NSW Sydney Institute (Sydney TAFE) for their Diploma of Engineering Technology in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning program.
Three lifelong contributors to the HVAC and building services industry were inducted in the ARBS Hall of Fame 2016. They included Garry Mundy (nominated by AREMA); Neil Marshall (nominated by AMCA); and Dr Stephen White (nominated by AIRAH).
The ARBS Industry Awards are held every two years in association with the ARBS Exhibition.
