Doors and windows from Architectural Window Systems were installed in two single level pavilion style holiday homes located in Agnes Water.
Situated on Queensland’s northern-most surf beach, the holiday homes feature large internal spaces that seem to flow effortlessly from one to the other. The homes have been built in pristine bushland, with the deck overlooking the sparkling blue waters of the Pacific.
Builder and designer, Kieran Gibson of Gibson Building worked closely with window and door fabricator, Bayview Glass to create the two pavilion style, single level holiday homes that not only fit in beautifully with the location’s climate and orientation but also maximise the sweeping vista.
AWS windows and doors were specified for the project for their aesthetic beauty, clean lines, affordability, and ability to function well despite the region’s temperature and humidity extremes.
AWS Series 618-3 track sliding doors and screens open on to an expansive deck, showcasing the breath-taking view across the rolling ocean. A seamless transition between the indoor and outdoor spaces is ensured using the multiple stack of three glass doors and three flyscreens sliding on the outside of the walls, cleverly concealed from the main living areas when open.
AWS products also used in the project include the AWS Series 525 louvres and Series 549 entry door.
The successful collaboration between the builder, fabricator and client resulted in a number of BDAQ (Building Designers Association Queensland) Design Awards in 2015, including the prestigious Residential Design $500-750K Award.
