ASP Access Floors installed a raised access floor in the gaming areas of Jupiter’s Star Casino in Broadbeach, Queensland to accommodate underfloor exhaust systems.
The casino gaming areas are broken into three levels: Level 1 is an open plan arrangement while level 17 and 18 are private gaming suites, with each level broken into five separate rooms. These spaces feature a combination of marble columns, stone floors and feature carpets, introducing an elegant vibe throughout the casino.
The raised access floor was installed in the public and private gaming areas covering an area of 3,500 square metres. The underfloor exhaust systems were put in place to accommodate the needs of overseas guests who smoked – this is not typical of Australian gaming setups for enclosed areas.
Completed in December 2017, the access floor system at the casino included S6 pedestals with S8 gaskets for air tightness, a steel cementitious rigid grid system with a 9kN loading at 347mm FFH, bare panel, and a calcium sulphate interlock system with a 9kN loading at 336mm FFH.
