The Induro is the latest Euro-Profile mortice lock from Lockwood, taking all the best features of the previous range, adding strength and durability, while also reducing complexity at the same time.

With a strong legacy in this product family, the challenge for this lock was to take all the best of its predecessors in the Millton lever-compression lock, and the Optimum, and create an all-new lock with all the best features. Designed to have the highest ratings of strength, durability, and security of any of the previous locks, the Induro truly delivers on lifting the range to a new level.

With a fresh start, the ASSA ABLOY group also worked together to look at how we can reduce complexity for our customers too. The obvious one was the lock-status indicator on the Optimum, which our customers preferred to be removed to make installation simpler and easier, and so that was taken out from the Induro. To match this change, the Palladium Xtra furniture most commonly used with the Optimum has now dropped the indicator window too, becoming the Palladium (Xtra) Snib for use with the Induro. The Palladium (Xtra) Snib series replaces all Palladium Xtra, and is backwards compatible with the Optimum locks.

The other big step was to make the lock more flexible for use by our customers, by making every lock selectable between Long or Short throw options. Previous locks were always either Long Throw or Short Throw, but the Induro is selectable between both options. Not only does this give additional options, but it also massively reduces complexity in ordering, inventory holdings, and forecasting. Customers can order one lock, which will be pre-set to Long Throw as the biggest volume seller, and in cases where they require a Short Throw version, simply change the Throw selector.

Finally, the Induro is designed to be a direct replacement to the Optimum, with the same cut-outs and installation methods. In fact, it will even be priced the same, despite all of those improvements!

With that in mind, please note that the Optimum 2-point lock will be phased out entirely, with the Induro becoming the main replacement.

Watch this space too for an upcoming launch of the Induro in 4-point locking variant, to be made available soon, perfectly complementing the Induro 2-point lock.
