At Good Design Awards 2022, ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions took home the coveted award for Product Design – Hardware & Building for its market-first Yale Unity Security Screen Door Lock with DualDoor Technology.

The Australian Good Design Awards is Australia’s oldest and most prestigious international design awards program. Back after a 2-year hiatus, the glittering awards ceremony brought together the Australian and international design community to celebrate the very best of design and innovation over the year.

More than 70 Australian and international experts took part in the judging process, evaluating entries across 11 design disciplines and 30 categories.

The Product Design Award recognises excellence in product and industrial design. On receiving the award, Michael Avis, general manager of ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions Australia, said: “This award validates the ongoing excellence our teams create on an everyday basis. It makes us all very proud and it is an honour to accept it.”

DualDoor Technology is an exclusive feature of Yale Unity Entrance Series Locks. The technology makes home life much easier and works seamlessly with Alexa Smart Home, Hey Google and more.

With a single command, you can lock or unlock the security screen door and the main entrance door simultaneously. It provides a convenient, smart and keyless entry solution to the home, eliminating the hassle of searching for mechanical keys.

“We’ve all experienced arriving home at the end of a long day, laden with bags and shopping, and having to set these items down as we fumble for keys,” says Lauren Kendall – product manager, ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions. “Having smart locks intuitively work together is a game changer. We have a solution, which makes life easier for you whilst still providing you peace of mind and protecting your home.”

It is all controlled by the Yale Access Smart Locks Platform. The Yale Access App allows users to share access with others, such as family members and cleaners. You can unlock and lock your door from wherever you are, so there’s no need for spare keys anymore.
