An Australian manufactured, residential mobility lift has been developed by Aussie Lifts . The Apollo comes complete with hydraulic cylinders and its own self supporting tower and doors, making it more cost effective and with a quicker installation time than conventional lift towers. The benefits of the Apollo are numerous, with low maintenance, quiet operation, versatile, and internal or external installation.
The Apollo comes with a 240v supply voltage, a rated speed of 0.133m/s, and a lifting capacity of 250kg, which can hold two people including one in a wheel chair. It is perfect for a residential building as the maximum travel distance is 3.5m. The cars are individually built to customer requirements with a maximum floor space of 1.3m², and a pt depth of 80mm. The customer has the option of single or dual entry.
The landing doors of the Apollo can be fitted with a number of different styles including glass, metal, Redicote flush door, or Corinthian impression. All doors are fitted with a mechanical electric interlock system and an adjustable door closer with handle. The car fit out is also flexible with custom finishes such as timber or stainless steel. Standard Apollo features include emergency telephone, two recessed down lights, a stainless steel handrail, and a non-slip floor covering.
The safety features of the Apollo include a key lockable push down button, emergency stop button, back-up battery for lighting and lowering of the car, photo electric sensors across the door entrance, and an emergency manual lowering facility. There is also a non-reversal timer of five seconds to allow the passenger to exit through the landing door once the car has stopped.
Minor external works are required before installation of the Apollo, such as pouring the concrete slab, supply and connection of a telephone line, and painting of the landing doors as only primer is provided. Aussie Lifts recommends a service is conducted at least every 12 months, and the manufacturers warranty lasts for 12 months.
