The Australian Brick and Blocklaying Training Foundation (ABBTF) strategise and create succession plans for the next generation of bricklayers and blocklayers. Their main focus is to ensure that there is a skilled and adequate workforce of bricklayers and blocklayers for the industry. ABBTF have introduced schemes and plans such as Step Out programs for secondary school students, support for long distance apprenticeships, promotional and resource assistance to TAFE and RTO and sponsorships for industry trade awards.
