The NCC 2022 is now released but what does this mean for the glazing in our homes going forward?
New minimal thermal performance requirements mean the performance of our new built homes will be set to the equivalent of a 7 Star NatHERS rating. The ultimate purpose being more comfortable homes, all year round, help improve the wellbeing of those living inside and reduce the demand on heating and cooling energy loads – which in turn reduce energy bill costs, and such reduction in energy demand reduces our carbon emissions.
Australian Glass Group (AGG) undertook a significant analysis on NatHERS 7 Star simulations to uncover the effect on glazing specifically when changing to a 7 Star NatHERS built home.
