Protecto Tape is a parapet and hand rail protection system and is BRANZ appraised No. 450 (2005)
Protecto Tape is a plasterable waterproofing membrane used to protect parapets, handrails and through wall fixings - i.e. down pipe blocks, pipe penetrations, meter boxes etc from water ingress.
Protecto Tape is easy to use - just prime, peel and stick. Protecto Tape will adhere to polystyrene, concrete, fibre cement sheet, plaster board and steel.
It is recommended that once Protecto Tape has been installed it should be rolled with a hard rubber roller to expel any trapped air and gain maximum adhesion.
Protecto Tape is not UV stable and must be covered with a mesh coat of plaster as soon as possible after installation. If Protecto Tape is not covered within 3 weeks of installation, re-prime and re-cover.
Protecto Tak Primer must be used on all surfaces except concrete. #80 Primer should be used when fixing to concrete.
Protecto Tape is sold in 30 metre rolls and is available in widths of: 75mm, 150mm, 300mm, 400mm, 600mm, and 900mm.
Protecto Tak Primer is available in 460g cans from Australian Waterproofing Consulting.
Protecto Wrap #80 Primer is available in 1lt, 4lt and 20lt cans. The Protecto Tape system is available at all good building merchants.
