Automatic Heating supplied a vacuum degassing solution to Melbourne Airport to overcome air problems in HVAC systems.
Melbourne Airport approached Automatic Heating for a solution to address significant air problems in their large CHW systems that provided cooling to the airport. Air build-up in any HVAC system is not good and the airport maintenance staff was having trouble removing it from the system. Additionally, this was also causing considerable pump wear and pipe noise.
The EcoVac degasser supplied to the airport was able to remove most of the gases in the CHW system within eight weeks while the pump and pipe noise had also disappeared. Without the air in the system, the pumps could be slowed down due to the increased operating efficiency.
The EcoVac degasser is now operating on cycle mode and maintains the system against any potential build-up of air.
