Bent and Curved Glass manufactured and supplied curved heat strengthened laminated glass panels for the feature stair installed in the entry lobby of the first completed commercial tower at Barangaroo International Towers Sydney (ITS) 2.
Bent and Curved Glass (BCG) collaborated with Woods Bagot Architects and fabricators F & D Normoyle Engineering to fine-tune the design. BCG’s precision bending and laminating processes ensured a quality finish with the timely delivery of the curved glass panels enabling the successful completion of the project.
Key features of the curved glass stair include an outer balustrade made of 35 uniquely shaped and raked 21.52mm thick frameless glass panels; and continuous stringer spirals creating a dramatic seamless sculptural form similar to an unfurling ribbon cascading down through three levels.
The curved glass stair connects the entry level of the tower to the open plan mezzanine levels overlooking the grand atrium style foyer.
Bent and Curved Glass works throughout Australia, collaborating with architects, engineers, builders and contractors at all stages of the design and construction process to ensure the best glass solutions are achieved within budget and on time for diverse projects.
