iSelect, Australia’s leading multi-channel comparison service, engaged Business Interiors by Staples to execute an office fit-out as well as transform their cafe into a welcoming space for employees.
Employing over 600 people within their campus-style head office in Cheltenham, Victoria, iSelect recently acquired additional space through a neighbouring lease to house their expanding workforce. The newly-leased space would accommodate an additional 40 employees.
Aware of the role of physical environments in attracting and retaining key talent, iSelect engaged Business Interiors by Staples to carry out the office fit-out in the newly-acquired space as well as redesign their cafe into a multi-functional environment.
For the cafe, the company sought to create a place where employees could take a well-deserved break and return refreshed and recharged, without having to leave the site. However, the existing colour scheme, which featured a lot of black and the corporate palette, did not foster a separation-from-work vibe.
The design brief for Business Interiors specified a finished environment that was bright and welcoming, and able to host 100 patrons at any given time. The space also needed to incorporate some collaboration areas for staff to hold informal meetings.
Business Interiors delivered a commercial fit-out using a space planning and furniture package that integrated the new workspace with the existing office design, complete with iSelect branding. To ensure design consistency and flow throughout the campus, Business Interiors sourced workstations and seating that closely matched the existing furniture.
The cafe space was completely transformed with a white and shiny chrome furniture palette inspiring greater patronage from the employees. Collaborative spaces were also created with quiet lounges doubling as informal meeting hubs, drawing more traffic to the cafe.
