CASF Australia has announced the two winners of Edition 3 of the Corian Design Awards Twenty17 for Outstanding Design.
Edition 3 Winner: Little Lion Café at Perth Children's Hospital
Designed by Bellfort Commercial Interior Design & Fitout with fabrication by Wave Surfaces, the café features Corian in Glacier White.
Corian was chosen for the project as it was the only product that would allow convex and concave shapes to be seamlessly created, engraved and illuminated. Since the café was within a hospital environment, the materials had to meet strict performance criteria, a requirement that was addressed with Corian.
Edition 3 Winner: Ballarat Construction Management (BCM)
Designed by Crosier Scott Architects for Ballarat Construction Management (BCM), the reception desk was created using Corian in Glacier White.
Corian was found to be the most suitable material for this project because of its seamless design ability and opportunity to create the desired sculptured form.
