Roof platforms from Con-form Group were used to install four new air-conditioning units on the roof of an existing shopping centre in Nowra.
Mechanical contractor Haden Air Conditioning & Mechanical Engineering was contracted to install four new air-conditioning units on the roof of the Stocklands shopping centre, each weighing over a tonne. The only way they could execute the job was by building four structural steel platforms or one extremely large platform and having a mass of duct work.
However, the work would have required them to shut down the tenancies below to remove the roof sheers and install the beams for the steel platforms, causing a major disruption to the shopping centre and lost revenue for the tenancies.
Haden chose to use Con-form roof platforms for installing the air-conditioning units, completely avoiding the need to disrupt operations at the shopping centre. There was no welding required and not a single roof sheet needed to be lifted, ensuring significant savings in cost and completing the project well ahead of schedule.
