The Concrete Institute of Australia is seeking nominations for the industry Awards for Excellence.
The awards will be presented as part of the CIA’s Biennial Conference 2003 - Concrete in the Third Millennium. The conference has assembled leading experts from around the world and will be held at the Sheraton Brisbane Hotel, Brisbane, Australia from 17 – 19 July 2003.
Awards are made for significant contributions to the development of concrete technology and practice in the categories: Projects and Technology. The nominations in the Project category will be further divided into Building Projects, Engineering Projects and International Projects. Examples include buildings, bridges, tunnels, public works structures, liquid retaining walls and roadworks.
Entrants in the Technology category have made significant contributions to the understanding or use of concrete as shown by research publications, patent applications, new pieces of equipment, new techniques or equipment, design innovations or educational activity. The overall winner from both categories will be awarded The Kevin Cavanagh Medal for outstanding contribution to the quality of concrete construction in Australia.
The Concrete Institute of Australia must receive all nominations by Friday 31st March 2003.
