As the AV technology partner to Australia’s leading mining companies, Corporate Initiatives (Ci) is often called upon to install or service their equipment in extremely remote areas.
This ‘can do’ attitude of the Ci team was once again put to the test in a recent project located on Varanus island, offshore from Karratha in Western Australia. The place could only be accessed by helicopter, necessitating an HUET certification for the Ci team.
While the vast Ci technical crew hold many certifications between them, an HUET is something special even by their high standards. It involves being dunked under water while being harnessed to a helicopter frame; this is repeated six times with an extra degree of difficulty added each time.
