The new Melbourne office of Asciano Limited, Australia’s largest national rail freight and ports operator, has used aluminium partitions and sliding track systems from Criterion Industries to create a clean, simple and impressive interior layout.
Located at 476 St Kilda Road, Melbourne, the new office brings together their business divisions, Pacific National and Patrick Ports with the logistic service operation. The interior design focused on promoting Asciano’s brand and core business of transport infrastructure with elements such as a refurbished shipping container used for a meeting room.
Delivering a clean and simple vibe while exuding a striking ‘wow’ effect, Asciano’s interior environment incorporates timber wall cladding, modern furniture and fittings, and quality floor coverings and tiles as well as Criterion’s Platinum 90 aluminium partitioning suite and Niagara sliding track systems.
Platinum 90 aluminium partitioning suite
Incorporating 64mm studs with 13mm plasterboard, the Platinum 90 suite offers three glazing options - centre glazed, offset glazed and double glazed. The centre glazed option is most commonly used while the offset glazed option delivers an expansive feel throughout the Asciano executive offices and meeting rooms. All three glazing options in the Platinum Suite are interchangeable.

Key features of Niagara sliding track systems include removable pelmet for easy access to roller assemblies; end cap provided for neat finish; capacity of up to 250kg; smooth and reliable operation; powder-coated or anodised finish; and door thickness of 38-44mm supported.
