We are proud to announce our innovative aluminium cladding system, DecoClad® has been awarded the prestigious 2024 Good Design Award.
This year’s theme, ‘The Design Effect’ underscored the crucial role design plays in shaping better products, services, spaces, and experiences while driving the transition to a more sustainable, less carbon-intensive future.
DecoClad was amongst the standout winners and received a Good Design Award Winner Accolade in the Product Design category for exceptional design and innovation.
The Jury commented: “Designed as an alternative to timber, DecoClad is a solid, powdercoated aluminium cladding that replicates the look of classic timber weatherboards. It is easily installed and compliant with Australian standards, making it ideal for high-rise buildings or bushfire-prone areas. The Jury commends the designers for their thoughtful consideration of material choice, environmental impact, installation, and product lifecycle. DecoClad is a well-resolved solution for achieving a timber-look appearance in challenging conditions.”
DECO Australia General Manager, Richard Hamber observed that it was great to see Australian designed and made products being recognised.
"At DECO, we are dedicated to creating innovative solutions that streamline the building process while delivering exceptional durability, longevity, aesthetics, and sustainability. We are incredibly proud that DecoClad has been celebrated for its outstanding design attributes and the benefits the cladding system brings to the architectural and construction industries.”
This year’s awards were rigorously evaluated by more than 80 distinguished jurors from around the globe, including designers, engineers, architects, and industry leaders. The evaluation process focused on three core criteria – Good Design, Design Innovation, and Design Impact, ensuring that each winner demonstrated outstanding design quality and effectiveness.
