Symphony awning fabrics are available in a wide range of colours and patterns. Dickson recommend selecting white and other light shades to enlarge a space, while they suggest using a red, orange of ochre to create a warmer atmosphere. Blues and greens reflect nature and present a soothing and relaxing area.
The thermal and luminous effects of the sun should also be considered when choosing a colour. A light coloured awning fabric will allow more warmth through but will also offer an incomparable brightness. A darker colour will give much more fresh feel, but will filter the brightness of the sun. The colour equally offers different UV protection levels. Dark colours stop both UVA and UVB rays and light colours will be as efficient as a factor 50 sunscreen.
Symphony acrylic awning fabrics are treated with a special Cleangard dirt-resistant and water repellent finish to make cleaning and maintenance as simple as hosing it off with a jet of clear water and brushing it with a soft brush.
