Dulux presents the new and improved Dulux World of Colour Atlas and Fandecks with 245 new colours opening up a whole new world for design professionals.
The new Dulux World of Colour brings an extensive range of colours together in four brand new design tools for designers, architects and specifiers.
The Dulux World of Colour Atlas showcases over 4,650 colours in new sections for Whites and Neutrals, Bolds and Brights as well as Greys and Pastels in addition to a journey through the Dulux Colours of New Zealand.
The new Atlas is accompanied by the Dulux World of Colour Fandeck, which includes 50 new colours and offers brilliant colour choices in a simple to use format.
Two brand new standalone Fandecks including a Whites & Neutrals Fandeck featuring 160 shades of whites, and the locally inspired Red Heart Blue Shore Fandeck introducing 90 new colours are also part of the Dulux presentation for design professionals.
Every colour is named, has a simple code and is listed in the Dulux World of Colour Atlas for a quick and easy way to identify colours.
According to Dulux Australia Marketing Manager Colour, Gavin Gilligan, the new colour tools were developed based on knowledge gained from conducting focus groups with some of the industry’s leading professionals.
The Dulux World of Colour Atlas and Fandecks will make it easier for design professionals across Australia and New Zealand to specify the right colour for every project with confidence.
Two of Australia’s most respected design professionals, Debbie Ryan, principal of one of Australia's well known architectural practices, McBride Charles Ryan, and Sue Carr, principal of the internationally acclaimed Carr Design Group spoke about the new Dulux World of Colour Atlas and Fandecks.
According to Ryan, the Dulux Atlas and Fandecks are valuable tools when it comes to project design. She explains that the unique requirements of each project with its own client, brief, location, site and budget limitations demand a bespoke colour scheme. The Atlas and Fandecks function as effective design tools that help them create something unique and delightful every time.
McBride Charles Ryan was recently nominated for the 2011 Interior Design Excellence Awards (IDEA) for their work on the PEGS (Penleigh Essendon Grammar School) Junior Boys School, which Ryan said demonstrated how colour was integrated into the design process from the very beginning.
Ryan adds that they look to Dulux for the latest colour tools and paint products to simplify their job.
Carr opts for the subtle and functional route in the use of colour in the design process, which is why the new Whites & Neutrals Fandeck plays a large role in her design development.
She explains that colour plays an important role in design, whether in the perception of space, building form, wayfinding, ambience or brand image, which also means that specifying the right shade and product is a critical part of the design process.
She adds that the quality of paints, availability of a wide colour palette and specifier tools have been instrumental in Carr Design Group specifying Dulux within their projects.
The brand new Dulux World of Colour Atlas and Fandecks are now available on sale for specifiers, architects and designers.
