HACCP Australia recently approved the Dyson Airblade hand dryer as the first and only hand dryer endorsed for food safety excellence and use in food handling areas.
The Dyson Airblade hand dryer has been acclaimed for its hygiene, environmental efficiency and overall fast performance worldwide. The Dyson Airblade hand dryer’s HACCP endorsement means that hand dryers will be installed into Australian food handling areas for the first time. From restaurant and deli kitchens, to food processing stations in manufacturing and packaging plants, the Dyson Airblade hand dryer offers a new technology solution designed to save operators money and staff resources.
Karen Constable, Head Researcher at HACCP, said that the Dyson Airblade hand dryer offers an effective hand drying solution, eliminating the major concerns that the food industry has had with electric hand dryers and offers a real food safe alternative to other methods.
While the Dyson Airblade hand dryer does not offer a complete solution to food contamination incidences, it does provide food industry vendors and operators a hygienic, cost effective product that has been identified to work properly in drying hands hygienically and quickly. According to industry research, damp hands are 1,000 times more likely to cross contaminate.
The Dyson Airblade hand dryer is powered by Dyson’s patented digital motor, which doesn’t rely on carbon brushes and can spin incredibly fast and efficiently. This enables the Dyson Airblade hand dryer to use up to 80 per cent less energy compared with conventional hand dryers.
Using high velocity sheets of unheated air, hands are dried in just ten seconds, while at the same time, 99.9% of bacteria and mould is removed from the air using HEPA filtration.
Recently introduced into Australia, the Dyson Airblade hand dryer has achieved local success, winning a gong from the Australian design and architecture industry and a New Product Award at its first public launch.
