Disability accessible products from Enware Australia were chosen for
installation at Julia Farr Housing Association (JFHA)’s latest project in
Christies Beach, South Australia. Enware’s products were selected for both aesthetics
and practicality.
A non-profit organisation specialising in the design and construction of
accessible, affordable homes for people living with disability, JFHA aims to
improve the quality of life for these people by providing access that assists
them with everyday living.
Specialist tapware and bathroom products from Enware were specified to
ensure the houses were fully accessible to people living with disabilities, and
also because they were fully AS1428.1 compliant and had a sleek, modern and
clean aesthetic.
Enware products chosen for the project included IFO basins and toilets,
chrome handheld showers and Aquablend SQX basin and shower mixers with extended
levers and handles. Mrs Megan Hayward, Project Manager - Property Development,
Julia Farr Housing Association observes that the Enware products are excellent
from design, functionality and maintenance perspectives, standing apart
aesthetically from conventional bathroom products.
Enware Managing Director, Mr Adam Degnan, says the project was a great
opportunity to showcase the diversity and versatility of their products that
could all be combined to deliver greater accessibility and visual appeal.
IFO Basins and Toilets
Suitable for compact or large bathrooms, the stylish Scandinavian IFO
wash basins exclusively distributed by Enware in Australia, New Zealand and
South East Asia are available in single and double bowl and special purpose models.
The IFO range of bathroom products also includes WC options, toilets, urinals
and baths, all architect-designed for healthcare, aged care, disability, commercial
and domestic applications.
Chrome Handheld Showers
Key features of Enware’s chrome handheld showers include an extensive
range of grab rail options; water efficient shower sets; and smooth chrome
finish. They also come with a polished stainless steel heavy duty grab rail
(1100mm x 700mm), which does not obstruct the passage of the hand in any way.
These design factors are important for people living with disabilities that
limit their movement or necessitate the need for additional support. The
showers are suitable for commercial amenities, hospitals, hotels, sporting
facilities and public areas.
Aquablend SQX Basin and Shower
Mixers
Enware’s latest Aquablend SQX thermostatic mixer range features an
extended, 100mm lever action to optimise safe and easy control of water flow in applications
such as aged care, hospital, healthcare, disability and medical facility use.
Recommended for people living with disability and with limited gripping
capacity, Aquablend SQX mixers with 100mm handle are part of the Australian-made
high quality ranges purpose designed for higher risk environments. The mixers
offer superior scald protection, along with water and energy-saving features.
