Award-winning architects, Bates Smart chose Vitrabond FR aluminium composite panels from Fairview to achieve a standing seam cladding design on the facade of The Monarch project in Sydney’s trendy Mosman suburb.
Instead of using metal or aluminium sheets to achieve the popular architectural feature on the facade, Bates Smart chose Vitrabond FR aluminium composite panels to deliver the same look, feel and sturdiness along with several additional benefits to the project application.
Simple installation is one of the primary advantages of Vitrabond FR panels. In this particular project, the long vertical ribs that form the classic standing seam system were made separately and then installed between each panel using the installer-friendly standard cassette fix system. Since the ribs are produced separately from the panels, architects have the flexibility to design their standing seam with multiple colours for an individualised look.
Being a cost-effective cladding solution, Vitrabond brings a significant price benefit to the project. Vitrabond FR panels also retain all the performance attributes of standing seam cladding solutions including complete waterproofing and weatherproofing properties; minimal maintenance requirement; lightweight, flexible and versatile design; and resistance to rust.
Vitrabond standing seam cladding adds a standout feature to The Monarch, widely considered to be the first ‘Soho’ style accommodation in Sydney’s lower north shore. This development comprises of 62 apartments as well as four Soho units displaying the unique Vitrabond FR standing seam design.
