Platinum honed terrazzo tiles from Fibonacci Stone
were used during a recent renovation of the Sandringham House by Doherty Design
Studio in collaboration with Techne Architects & Interior Design.
Doherty Design and Techne Architects came together to
freshen up a rundown weatherboard cottage and transform it into a colourful and
energetic family home.
The Sandringham home renovation project included the
extension of the existing structure to accommodate an open-plan living area
with four bedrooms and a study. The original façade of the home was preserved
with a double storey extension added based on the form of a contemporary
shipping container.
Using a simple, utilitarian aesthetic for the
interior design that played with bold graphic shapes in strong blocks of colour,
the renovation teams also chose Platinum terrazzo tiles from Fibonacci Stone to
make a bold statement on the bathroom walls.
