An external cladding material in COLORBOND steel from Fielders Steel Roofing was specified by the architects for the façade of a new $36-million apartment development in Adelaide.
Designed by Loucas Zahos Architects and built by Datong with Alien Roofing serving as the roofing contractors, Aria Apartments is located on Gouger Street, one of the CBD’s newest and most exclusive residential addresses in the heart of Adelaide’s buzzing restaurant district.
Completed mid-2015, the 12-storey building features 93 modern apartments in one, two and three bedroom configurations, positioned around a central atrium, with significant retail and restaurant space on the street level.
Working with Alien Roofing, Fielders provided the contemporary Finesse Boulevard exterior cladding as the façade of the modern building, with the material lining the base levels of the building. Fielders supplied 900 square metres of Finesse Boulevard material in 0.55 COLORBOND Monument colour.
Fielders Finesse Boulevard was chosen by the architects for its ability to provide a clean and modern finish to the lower part of the building. The flat recessed joint of the material helped create a smooth effect that harmonised with the blue-tinted glass façade of the upper levels.
The Boulevard profile was applied to the exterior of the building over the course of an eight-week installation period.
