Fielders SlimFlor steel formwork was installed throughout each floor of the 23-storey office tower in the heart of the Adelaide CBD. Fielders collaborated with Synergy Constructions and PT Design to deliver its integrated steel flooring solution to the building at 115 King William Street, which at the time of its completion in 2016 was the fourth tallest structure in Adelaide.
A striking and prominent addition to the busy city street, the building boasts open-planned and light-filled office spaces, and is located in the midst of upscale restaurants, Adelaide’s key shopping precinct, Rundle Mall, and all four major banks.
Fielders supplied a total of 6,100 square metres of the SlimFlor steel formwork system. SlimFlor was chosen for its ability to provide a long-spanning, cost-effective integrated steel flooring system and a design that permitted the effective use of universal beam sections.
To provide a floor system with a reduced construction zone, SlimFlor utilises Fielders KingFlor CF210 flooring profile in conjunction with Asymmetric Steel Beam (ASB) sections.
By combining the floor slab and supporting structure in the same plane, the steel formwork provides a lightweight, versatile, and long-spanning floor system, effectively streamlining the construction process for the 86-metre high tower.
