Colour was the primary inspiration for the architect’s vision for the design of a school expansion project in Kolding, Denmark.
Designed by Nova5 Arkitekter A/S, Dalby Skole has an exceptionally colourful ambience, and stands out particularly for the expressionist use of vibrant colours on the 3,000m² floor surface, which helps deliver a joyful vibe.
An ‘educational staircase’ displays a scale of eight tonal shades of green Marmoleum from Forbo Flooring. It touches on the themes of growth and health, and also on the nuances of a step-by-step learning process. For the younger children, the staircase is based on blue tones, the symbol of peace and harmony.
Marmoleum, a range of linoleum floor coverings from Forbo, was selected for its wide choice of tonal graduations, in particular the yellow-blue and yellow-green colour scales. The flooring was installed by Garant Brich A/S.
