There are big changes coming with the new NCC 2022. And one of them will impact every new commercial build project in Australia.
When specifying plumbing products for your project, check whether your tapware complies with the new NCC regulations. By ensuring compliance, you will be future-proofing your projects.
New and changing NCC regulations can be stressful; however, having a firm grip on how a changing regulatory environment impacts all your projects will help you navigate the complex requirements and ensure compliance now and well into the future.
Designing sustainable, healthy and innovative public buildings is rewarding, but it comes with a specific set of responsibilities and compliance obligations. Failure to conform could mean missing out on winning that next project.
We can help you prepare for a lead-safe future today
In response to a decision by the Australian Building Codes Board, new standards for plumbing products intended for use in contact with drinking water will limit the weighted average lead content to not more than 0.25%.
The inclusion of the new requirement means that from 1 September 2025, plumbing products that do not conform to lead-free requirements will no longer have valid certification and will not be authorised for installation if in contact with drinking water.
