Several water solutions from Galvin Engineering were installed at the Bob Hawke College as part of the first stage of the $70 million construction.
Stage one of the construction of Perth’s newest inner-city school, Bob Hawke College, which began in July 2018, consisted of classrooms, science and technology laboratories, a library, lecture theatre, administration and student services, as well as a cafeteria, landscaped courtyards and multipurpose playing courts, creating areas for students to play and socialise.
The school was designed by Bateman Architects and T&Z Architects for the WA Department of Education.
As a leading provider of water solutions for a healthier environment, Galvin Specialised was chosen to assist in the design and supply of taps, water management systems and fixtures. Being a local manufacturer, Galvin was able to offer ongoing assistance to plumbing contractors during the project to ensure correct installation and operation of its products and systems.
Focussed on delivering safe and clean potable water, particularly in a school environment, Galvin Specialised supplied exclusively Lead Safe product solutions for its high-performance remote pushbutton drinking bubblers and bottle fillers.
The AS/NZS 3718 and WELS 6 star approved Ezy-Drink product range offers robust high quality performance in demanding school environments. The stainless steel option eliminates the risk of lead leaching into the water from the tapware even after prolonged periods of stagnation. It also protects children’s teeth through its AS 4020 approved rubber mouthguard made from EPDM material – the high resistance to UV exposure as well as fungal and bacterial attacks increases its longevity in high wear outdoor environments.
Galvin also supplied school laboratory tapware, gas outlets, floor grates, fire equipment and meter boxes as part of the overall contract.
Galvin products installed at Bob Hawke College included Ezy-Drink Lead Safe drinking taps; Ezy-Push Timeflow pushbutton taps; drains and cleanouts; school laboratory gas outlets; school laboratory tapware; vandal resistant school pattern tapware; CI meter boxes; and Red Emperor fire equipment.
