Several products from Galvin Engineering were installed at the Southern Cross Care facility, The Pines (SA).
Designed by Comcorp Architects, The Pines Lodge – a 2011 UDIA National Award Winner – raises the standard of supported care to a higher level, and is regarded as one of Australia’s most modern establishments in the care segment.
The facility, which sits in a relaxing and tranquil environment, offers a total of 144 rooms delivering low and high level care accommodation to residents. Each private room has its own ensuite, individually controlled air conditioning and nurse call buttons.
The project involved the demolition of the existing buildings, and construction of two main buildings, both two-storeyed, for the aged care facility. New features include entries, entry canopies, reception, amenities, staff areas, staff offices, dining areas, commercial kitchen, common areas, courtyards, car parking, and a circular driveway with a central water feature.
The scope also included landscaping, associated site works and building elements such as rendered concrete facades, glazing, carpets, vinyl flooring, air-conditioning, lifts, fire systems and bathroom fittings.
Galvin Engineering supplied and installed vinyl floor drains and cleanouts as well as ClevaCare shower arms. KBR was the Hydraulic Consultant on the project.
