A high-performance, clear low-E glass product from Glassworks Australia has been used extensively in a holiday home in Sorrento, Victoria, ensuring beautiful views from every room in the house.
Located right on the beach, the 770m² holiday home has been designed by architect Robert Simeoni to maximise the view for the residents from inside the building. LoE3-366, a highly advanced low-E product from Glassworks helped achieve the homeowner’s design brief and the architect’s vision without needing any unsightly overhangs or permanent tints to block the sun during its hottest hours.
For the property on the foreshore of Sorrento, Mornington Peninsula, the owner sought a bright and modern home with a view from every room. Working with the builder, SMA Projects, Robert Simeoni was able to deliver on the brief.
The exterior combines custom timber hand-cut on site and a glass facade almost covering the entire perimeter of the house. Installed by LBA Joinery using Glassworks’ LoE3-366 double glazed IGUs, the clear glass facade allows the owner to keep the blinds up even on the hottest days, be comfortable even without air-conditioning, and also get noise control benefits.
The clear glass facade ensures stunning views of the beach and the beautiful landscaping by Tract Consultants right from the inside.
The interior of the home is made from timber, stone and travertine. Designed by Lombard & Jack, the interior ensures excellent fade protection for the luxurious and contemporary Space furniture with the LoE-366 blocking the UV, which causes fading.
