Good Environmental Choice Australia (GECA) announces the appointment of Patrick Walker as the new Chair. Patrick takes over from Gordon Renouf, who has served as Chair for the past six years.
A member of the GECA Board of Directors for over four years, also chairing GECA’s Business Development Committee, Patrick brings extensive leadership and strategy skills as well as considerable marketing and business development expertise to his new role at the organisation. He has worked as a senior member of the PricewaterhouseCoopers leadership team and Leadership Council, and also serves as the CEO of the Australian Sports Foundation, a not-for-profit that raises money for community and grassroots sport.
According to Mr Walker, GECA has an important role to play in fostering sustainable consumption, and the Board, CEO and GECA team are all passionate about making a real difference to the behaviour of producers and consumers in the years ahead.
Gordon Renouf will remain on the GECA Board as a Non-Executive Director while he continues his work with not-for-profit and social business ventures, such as the ethical brand ratings app Good On You, of which he is CEO and co-founder.
Good Environmental Choice Australia (GECA) runs Australia's only independent, not-for-profit, multisector ecolabelling program and is the only Australian member of the Global Ecolabelling Network (GEN).
