Blanco from Havwoods’ Venture Plank collection was selected for the flooring of an apartment in Brooklyn, New York during its renovation.
With minimalism as the design theme, B Interior, a sophisticated residential design firm based in New York, envisioned an apartment with simple, uncluttered spaces where the architectural features and materials were highlighted.
Blanco, an engineered wood flooring plank from the Venture Plank collection, was selected for its light tone as the team wanted a clean feel and sought to create a contrast between the dark millwork and the kitchen. The abundant natural light from the floor to ceiling windows is the focal point of the apartment, and the light floors create the perfect canvas for the stunning view.
The location is a vital influence on every space designed by B Interior. “When designing a summer home, the design theme is beachy, lots of natural materials and light colours. For the city apartment, the design can be more edgy, sophisticated and urban,” Principal Sharon Blaustein explained.
Focussing on clean lines and functionality, the B Interior team has designed the apartment to balance minimalism and a bit of personality within the residence. In this project, the clients are well-travelled and have lived all over the world, including Australia and Singapore. The beautiful artefacts they collected on their travels are showcased against this clean aesthetic without overwhelming the space.
The B Interior team chooses to work with Havwoods on a number of their projects because “Havwoods have amazing variety, high quality products in the right price point. The customer service is great”.
