Privium Design and Construct chose PowerPanel50 wall systems from CSR Hebel for one of their latest projects in Sunnybank Hills, QLD.
Known as Impact Group AUS for over 22 years, the organisation was rebranded as Privium in December 2018, while continuing to deliver high quality projects across Queensland’s eastern seaboard, including house and land packages, land subdivisions and townhouse developments. An inherent forward-looking approach has taken Privium to the top in the latest HIA Housing 100 Report as Australia’s No. 1 townhouse builder and Queensland’s No. 1 low rise residential builder.
In keeping with their culture of innovation, Privium chose the revolutionary Hebel PowerPanel50 external wall and intertenancy wall systems for their PARC Townhomes project in Pinelands Road, Sunnybank Hills, QLD.
Privium’s PARC Townhomes is a 93-townhouse development being constructed in two stages. Located just 16 kilometres from Brisbane’s CBD, the project will offer 47 homes in the first stage with work on the second stage expected to begin in May. Scheduled for completion in early 2020, the development will also include a recreation building, swimming pool, outdoor chess board, exercise area, community garden, children’s playground and barbecue areas.
Hebel’s PowerPanel50 was specified for the external walls and intertenancy walls of the stylish four-bedroom townhouses. This was the first time Privium was using Hebel in a project, according to John Sharp, who heads Privium Design and Construct with fellow project manager Ben Mayne. Hebel was chosen for reasons such as cost, value and the recent introduction of the system.
“The Hebel PowerPanel50 was a cost effective solution,” Sharp said. “We have now made the change across the Group, and will be using Hebel for all intertenancy walls. External use will depend on what is advantageous to the individual projects, but it has come up well on this project and we are pleased with it.”
Developed by CSR Hebel and introduced to the Australian market in 2018, PowerPanel50 wall systems deliver multiple benefits to builders. Sharp explained that the speed of installation (on intertenancy walls) was probably similar for the Hebel 50mm and 75mm PowerPanels, adding that the 50mm panel was lighter, and easier to handle on site.
Hebel PowerPanel50 also provides homeowners with larger internal areas, while still ensuring the walls are solid and secure. At the PARC Townhomes project, these lightweight wall systems were able to satisfy acoustic requirements unlike other lightweight cladding. Sharp added that the Hebel panels also delivered cost and time savings to the project.
