Hettich Australia presents a special trend report on the top news-making products at the Salone del Mobile 2017, which concluded recently in Milan.
Hettich's ‘Light and Airy Meets Opulent’ trend report on Salone del Mobile 2017 portrays the trends observed at the world's biggest and most important furniture exhibition, specifically in the areas of finishes, colours and functions. Providing a general picture of new products exhibited at the show, the report covers a selection of impressions of diverse surfaces, vibrant architecture and intelligent functions to provide both information and inspiration.
Surface finishes that set the tone in Milan included classy materials such as marble, leather, velvet and precious metals. The colour scheme embraced the dark side, a trend that also extended to the timbers. Accent colours were applied in muted, matt tones.
Key trends noticed at the show included the use of glass doors implying transparency; upholstered furniture, tables and even cabinets featuring organic shapes with the flair of the ‘swinging sixties’; highly functional sliding and folding door systems providing access to storage spaces; inclusion of bar compartments in the living room; and cabinets showing off their versatility as organisers on the inside.
